So I signed up to do the Evans Ride It sportive in Epping. I signed up 2 months ago. I have done lots of training. I cycled 50 miles around London two weeks ago. I cycled London to Brighton last Friday. Today I took part in the Sportive, and it went fine. My knees are killing me... very achy. My neck is sore from holding my head up (has been like this both times I've done a long distance). Otherwise I feel OK. Mike was a schmuck on Wed last week - made me cycle down Highgate West Hill and then back up it (no stops). I did stop 20m from the top. I was KO'd. We then did a time trial zig-zagging up and down - Ringwood, Beech and Church Vale, off Twyford Ave (N10). Did it twice : first time was 4min 05sec; second time was 3min 40-something... I was absolutely dead after that.
My knees hurt
